The first half of November was full of revision and work for me. The second half was meant to be full of reading, but instead I didn’t read as much as I had planned (or basically at all). November also brought me the worst day of my life so far, not even being dramatic.
My little Casper rabbit who I haven’t spoken about much on the blog, but have mentioned and posted pictures of on twitter, passed away suddenly on the 18th November. He was only 2 and a half years old and it was extremely unexpected. He hadn’t been ill prior to it and the day before, he’d been happily hopping about and even wrestled a strawberry out of my hand. Even the morning of the 18th, he looked absolutely fine. It was a devastating shock and I spent a lot of time crying about it. He really was my pride and joy and we’d only brought him in for his third Winter inside at the end of October. We think that it was probably a heart attack or a stroke, which we are hoping happened quickly and in his sleep as he looked so perfect. I honestly miss him every single day and feel like a part of me went with him.
Now back to the reading, which I don’t really want to talk about because it’s so shameful.
Monthly reading total: 0 || Books this year: 36
Reading Goals for November:
- The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by
- Finish Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
- The Lady’s Guide To Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee
- Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan
- Jiddy Vardy by Ruth Estever
You know, I really thought I’d get through these books in the last two weeks of November because I had them free but after not reading consistently for a few months now and clearly being in a slump from constant studying for all of 2018 thus far, I haven’t finished anything.
As I write this though, I am less than 100 pages till I finish my current read, which is Gentleman’s Guide. I’m hoping that me finishing a book will hopefully kickstart me reading more in December.
NONE BECAUSE I SUCK
Ugh, I knew this month was going to suck in the first half but I wasn’t prepared for the reading slump to hit me after my last exam at all. Of course, I haven’t been reading because I was studying which is fair enough, but I expected to get right back into it in the last two weeks of the month but I feel like exams and studying really drained me and I’m only just beginning to get my energy back. I’m really hoping for a strong reading month in December – especially as I want to hit my Goodreads goal for the year and hopefully go past it!
This Months TBR:
You’ll have to see my December Reads post going up later today to see what I want to read. It’s my very first Blogmas post but stay tuned because they’ll be going up every day until Christmas Day! I can’t believe we only have 25 days to go!
