Blogmas 2018: Books on my Christmas Wishlist

With Christmas fast approaching, I thought it would be fun to talk about the books that are on my Christmas wishlist. I don’t have too many on my wishlist this year as I feel like this year has been quite quiet for new releases. I am also very lucky in that I do have the majority of books that I want to read on my shelves. Of course, there are some books that I don’t own that I would like to add to my collection.

These are just a few of the books that I am after this Christmas:

  1. Vicious and Vengeful by V. E. Schwab – Specifically, I’m after the US hardcovers. I’ve asked my parents for these two. Despite already owning Vicious in paperback, I wanted to have the series matching.y648
  2. The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang – There has been a hell of a lot of hype around this book and though I did want to buy it myself, I thought I would save it for a birthday/Christmas present idea for one of my family members.
  3. Escaping from Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco – I have an ARC of this book but I don’t have the finished copy yet. Therefore, it is definitely on my Christmas list this year.
  4. The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller – This book has definitely made the rounds in the book community and keeps coming up time and time again. With the release of Circe, this is definitely a book that is on my wishlist.
  5. Paper Girls Vol. 2 by Brian K. Vaughan – I received the first graphic novel for my birthday in July. I quite enjoyed it but am intrigued to find out what happens next.
  6. A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir – This is the third instalment to Tahir’s An Ember in the Ashes series. I would really like to get up to date with this series now the third one has come out. I’m actually quite surprised that there hasn’t been as much hype surrounding it, if I’m honest.

So those are the books on my Christmas wishlist for 2018. It seems quite small but that’s because quite a few of the books on my wishlist are coming out in 2019. If I counted 2019 releases on my wishlist, this list would definitely be a lot longer!

What books are on your wishlist this Christmas?

  1. Nice list Vicky! Obviously, I’m 100% on board with you getting multiple copies of Vicious and Vengeful. Sounds like the perfect Christmas present. I’m about half way through the Poppy War (still) and it’s so good, so I hope you enjoy it if you get it! I wrote about my Christmas wishlist the other day too and (unsurprisingly) I’ve asked for some Victoria Schwab books. 😀

  2. I’ve also asked for Vicious! I still have yet to read any of V.E. Schwab’s books and it seemed like the best one to start with! I hope all of the books on your list are wrapped up under the tree for you 🙂

    1. Ah I hope you get it! I am quite lucky that I do already have a paperback copy so I could have read it already but now Vengeful is out, I want them to match. I’ve read A Darker Shade of Magic and the This Savage Song/Dark Duet, but that’s it so far. Oh and City of Ghosts! I would like to read all of her books next year though!I hope the books you want are under the tree too 🙂
