Blogmas 2018: Hot Drinks for Hot Reads

So it’s day 6 of Blogmas and I’m already struggling for blog post ideas…I have no idea how I’m going to manage to fill every day up until Christmas Eve, but I’ll give it a good go!

For today’s post, I thought I would try to match up some seasonally appropriate, hot drinks with some not so seasonally appropriate books. Most of the Christmas/Winter books I own are on my December TBR!

Hot Chocolate and Harry Potter

I always feel like Harry Potter is a great book to cosy up with at Christmas, especially The Philosopher’s Stone as it has a Christmas scene in it. Hot Chocolate is the perfect drink to cosy up with whilst reading this book.

Chai Latte and A Christmas Carol

Ok, so out of all of the books in this post, this is the only one I haven’t read but Chai tea/Chai latte’s are so Christmassy so I feel like this would be the perfect drink for when I read this on Christmas Eve!

Gingerbread Latte and The Afterlife of Holly Chase

I read The Afterlife of Holly Chase last Christmas and really enjoyed it. I think this festive drink would be perfect to drink alongside it. it’s Christmassy and spicy, just like Holly’s personality.

White Hot Chocolate and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

I definitely feel like a white hot chocolate is the perfect drink for this book. I feel like Lara Jean would love this drink because it’s sweet, just like her.

Sticky Toffee Pudding Hot Chocolate and Caraval

This is the perfect sweet drink for this book. Caraval is full of magic and wonder and I feel like this drink would compliment it perfectly. I’ve never seen this hot chocolate sold anywhere but Whittards, so feel like it may be a little hard to come by!

Hazelnut Latte and Stalking Jack the Ripper

I feel like I had to include this book because obviously it’s one of my favourite series of all time, but it also goes quite well with this drink because I’d say SJTR is quite a nutty/gritty read at times.

Chocolate Orange Tea and Cinder

I received Cinder for Christmas a few years back and ended up reading it just after Christmas. I’d recommend this slightly fruity tea to accompany this great read. For me, this drink gives me Christmas memories as it reminds me of Terry’s Chocolate Oranges and as I received Cinder, I had to pair the drink to this book.

Black Forest Gateau Hot Chocolate and Six of Crows

Six of Crows isn’t exactly a Christmas read but it does have a snowy setting and a character that loves food (my kind of pal), so I just had to include it. I think a Black Forest Gateau Hot Chocolate is perfect for this book and when I wrote out the drink, this book immediately came to mind. This drink is usually a staple on the Costa Christmas Menu and it’s so yummy!
