Six Books to Fall Into This Autumn

If you didn’t know, Autumn is my favourite season of the lot. In fact, I actually took a buzzfeed quiz and the result was that I am 100% Autumn so… I love getting cosy, seeing all the pretty colours of the leaves, the fire coming on and JUMPERS. I just love it all! I also love reading books that are perfect for copying up with a blanket and a nice warm mug of tea or hot chocolate.

With that, I wanted to recommend some books that I think are great reads to pick up this Autumn, especially as the Spooky Season is approaching.

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

Stalking Jack the Ripper by kerri maniscalco has a girl in a green dress on the cover, holding a dagger, with the title in white font over the middle of the cover in large text.Is it a surprise to anyone that this is first on my list? Because it absolutely shouldn’t be. I really love this series SO much and want to get it into as many hands as possible. The first book is set in London during the time of Jack the Ripper. Audrey Rose, our main character, then starts out on her mission to find out more about this killer.

Truly, Devious by Maureen Johnson

Review

I am ALWAYS on the look out for new murder mystery YA books and this is exactly what I was looking for. I really enjoyed this one and enjoyed the sequel even more! It’s set in a US boarding school with the main character attempting to solve a mystery from the 1930s.

Vicious by V. E. Schwab

Vicious is a book that I had on my shelves for years but never read. After reading this book, I was kicking myself for not picking it up sooner. This book was quite different to what I’d read before and I thought Victoria’s writing was so, so good in this one. This book follows Victor Vale, a superhuman who is up against his best friend turned archenemy. This book is just perfect for the darker evenings that Autumn brings.

A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

A curse so dark and lonely by Brigid kemmerer has a dark blue cover with silver branches. The title is in large text across the cover in silver metallic font.

I just had to include a Fantasy book on this list and this is one I actually read recently and quite enjoyed. It’s a really fast paced book and I’d fully recommend gathering your blankets and a nice mug of something sweet to accompany you on this trip this book will take you on. It’s a Beauty and the Beast retelling with a bit of a twist.

City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab

Review

City of Ghosts is a perfect read for the Spooky Season and features, you guessed it, ghosts. It’s a children’s book but don’t let that fool you. It’s a super fast read and even I found myself getting a little bit scared whilst reading it, especially when reading the sequel, Tunnel of Bones.

Aaaaand I’ve just noticed I have two Victoria Schwab books on this list!

Last but not least…

Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling

Am I cheating saying Harry Potter when there are 7 books? Perhaps but I couldn’t not include these books on this list. They’re perfect to snuggle up with no matter the season, but I think they’re particularly perfect to read during Autumn and Winter.

What books would you recommend for Autumn? 🍂

  1. These are such perfect recommendations for Fall! Harry Potter is a series that I definitely associate with Fall, especially Prisoner of Azkaban. I haven’t read the other books that you’ve mentioned, but I definitely want to check them out 🙂
