WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday || 29/7

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted Taking on a World of Words that I thought would be fun to get involved with. It involves answering three WWW questions about recent reads.

The last week has been a surprise and I shall tell you as for why. My most favourite musical artist, Taylor Swift, released a surprise album on Friday which yes, I woke up at 5am for the new cardigan music video and to listen to the album. No, I don’t have any regrets and yes, I love it a hell of a lot. I’ll be posting my rankings soon so make sure to look out for that.

Other than that wonderful news, I’ve had a pretty disappointing week of reading. I think the amount of books I read in the previous week had a bit of a negative affect on my reading this week. I think the Reading Rush also contributed to this. I had 7 books on my TBR for it and that, combined with working and some studying, just really put me in the mood to not read anything. I’ve now got 3 days left (including today) to try and read a bit more towards my goal of 10 books read in July. I knew it was an ambitious goal but I wanted to give it a go. I’m pretty disappointed that I’ve essentially wasted a week with no reading though!

What are you currently reading?

Last week, I said I’d started Emergency Contact by Mary. H.K. Choi. What I meant when I said I’d started it is that I’ve only read one chapter. Since picking it up, I haven’t read anymore of it as I was planning to do the Reading Rush but unsurprisingly, that never happened. I’m sad that I haven’t read more of this as I’ve been wanting to pick it up for so long now.

I’ve also started You Should See Me In A Crown by Leah Johnson. I’m really enjoying it so far and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to finish it tomorrow. Definitely before the month ends at least! My plan is to complete this book and then return back to Emergency Contact. I need a fast paced contemporary to get me back into reading and You Should See Me In A Crown seems like it’ll be just that.

What did you recently finish reading?

I read a short story called Father and Son by Langston Hughes as part of a study for a PhD student but that’s it. I’m really hoping this next week will be much more positive!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m planning to pick up Loveless by Alice Oseman next. I’ve been really looking forward to this one and after seeing quite a few positive reactions to it, I’m looking forward to it even more!

 What are you reading this week?
