This week has not been a great week for reading so I hope you’re not expecting to see a long post about my current reads. My boyfriend came home after a 10-day trip abroad and then it was his birthday at the weekend so I’ve spent every evening and all weekend with him since he came back. I then started my new accountancy qualification (called ACCA) on Monday evening so I haven’t had much chance to read at all over the last weekend!

What are you currently reading?

My current read is Gumiho: Wicked Fox by Kat Cho which I’m looking to have finished by the end of the weekend. I’m quite enjoying it so far!The cover of Gumiho: Wicked Fox by Kat Cho featuring a Korean girl and Korean boy in the middle of the cover with a pink and purple background with the outline of trees and the moon. The text is at the bottom of the cover.

What did you recently finish reading?

I haven’t finished anything this week. Booooo!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I am looking to read S.T.A.G.S. by M.A. Bennett and Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne. Both are on my YALC tbr, which I need to get back on track with!

I’ve been focussing a lot on reading more recently, especially in the last week. I’m edging closer and closer to my Goodreads 2019 goal of 30 books with only 3 books to go now until I reach it. I’m aiming to have hit that goal (and hopefully have gone over) by the end of June but we’ll see!

I’m currently reading Gumiho: Wicked Fox by Kat Cho. I’m not very far into it yet but I have high hopes for it!Wicked Fox book cover by author Kat Cho - shows two figures backlit as they are in front of a large moon and forest. What did you recently finish reading?

This week, I finished The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg and It Only Happens in the Movies by Holly Bourne. I was a little disappointed in The Kingdom but quite enjoyed It Only Happens in the Movies so it was a fairly average reading week.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have 6 books to read for YALC still so I’m planning to continue making my way through my TBR for that. I’m not sure what I’ll be in the mood for but I think my next read will be between S.T.A.G.S by M.A. Bennett and The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh.

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg and then I’m also listening to the audiobook of The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski. I read it physically 4 years ago and bought the other two books in the trilogy but didn’t continue with the series. I’m trying to complete more series this year and although it’s not going quite to plan yet, I’m hoping to make it more of a thing in the latter half of the year!

What did you recently finish reading?

Over the last week, I finished The Vanishing Stair which I loved. I then read Saga Vol. 3 and at the beginning of this week, I finished The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli. The Last Namsara is the first book on my TBR for YALC so I’m happy to have that one read and a book ticked off my YALC list!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have quite a few books that I need to read for YALC still so I’m going to be picking up one of those soon. I’m potentially thinking of picking up A Girl Called Shameles by Laura Steven which is the sequel to The Exact Opposite of Okay which I mentioned in my WWW Wednesday post last week.

I was hoping to pick up It Only Happens in the Movies by Holly Bourne to buddy read it with my friend Amy however there was a slight fiasco with it. When I was flicking through to get an idea of how long chapters were and what we could cover each day, I got to page ’50’ however it wasn’t there! It turns out that the copy I bought (in August, mind!) was missing pages 49-96 and instead, I had pages 97-144 printed twice. So I’ve got to return that and get it replaced before we can start our buddy read.

I’ve really slacked on the blogging front this month and last but I’ve been trying to focus on reading more as I’d like to reach my goal of 30 books read by the end of June so that I can then aim for at least 60 books read this year. The only problem with reading more is that I now have loads of reviews to catch up on!

I have been feeling more motivated to read this month, which will probably show in my reading wrap up for May although I’m hoping to read more in June if I can!

What are you currently reading?

I picked up The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson yesterday! I’m kind of hoping I’ll be able to finish it before the end of May as it’s on my May TBR but we’ll see how that goes…

What did you recently finish reading?

Whilst on holiday last week, I read Eliza and her Monsters and then picked up The Exact Opposite of Okay which I finished on bank holiday Monday. I loved Eliza so much!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’ve been saying this for weeks now but I would like to pick up Romanov next. It’s on my May TBR, so while I know I won’t read it in May now, I would like to pick it up in June. I also have my YALC tbr to pick up now so I’ll be focusing on that until the end of July!

I’ve passed on WWW Wednesday for a few weeks as I hadn’t finished a book since the Easter bank holiday weekend because I shamefully didn’t finish one book. Since then, I have finished 3 books, so I thought it was about time I brought this little feature back!

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading Eliza and her Monsters by Francesca Zappia and I am really enjoying it! I’m hoping to have it finished in the next day or two. That’s pretty realistic as I’m getting through it quite quickly!

What did you recently finish reading?

In the last two weeks, I’ve finished Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan, the Penguins Classic Suffragettes book and Finale by Stephanie Garber. Both GoPaF and Finale have been great reads and Suffragettes was informative and interesting.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m currently on holiday so I’ve brought a few books with me including my current read. I did a poll on twitter asking which of the three books I brought with me should I read first. Eliza and her Monsters just about won it with Romanov coming second and The Exact Opposite of Okay coming last. I’ll be picking up Romanov next, thanks to my poll!

I missed WWW Wednesday last week because I shamefully didn’t finish one book, despite actually reading,

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan. I’m lucky that I get an hour long lunch break so I am reading it at home as well as at work which is helping me to get through books!

What did you recently finish reading?

So this week, I finished quite a few books. I’m quite surprised by how much I actually read, but it’s all thanks to the long Easter weekend. Praise bank holidays and we still have two to come in May!

Between Thursday and Tuesday, I finished Opposite of Always and The Path Keeper and read A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and The Paper & Hearts Society. That’s 4 books read in a week which is so good for me. I wish I could read that many every week!

What do you think you’ll read next?

My plan is to read Romanov by Nadine Brandes and Viper by Bex Hogan next. We still have a week left on April, so I’d love to get more books read for #ARCAttack especially as both of these books are the only two left on my ARCs to be released list (even though Viper was released on the 18th April!).

I wasn’t sure whether to do WWW Wednesday this week seeing as I posted my first Top Ten Tuesday post yesterday, but then I realise that I barely posted last week (blame the fact I started a new job) so here I am making up for it now! Plus, I’ve read a book this past week so I may as well tell you about it!

I really want to continue this streak of reading a book a week, but what I’d really love is to be able to bump that number up to two a week. I know I’ve said it a few times now, but I really want to work on reading more books and faster this year.

What are you currently reading?

I’m still read The Path Keeper by N. J. Simmonds and am about a quarter of the way through so far. I’ve been reading it on my lunch breaks at work now that I get an hour, but I usually spend the first half hour eating and going on my phone and then the second half hour I try to read on my Kindle. I picked up Opposite of Always as my ‘at home’ read and so far, it seems quite good and like it could be a fairly quick read, despite the fact that it is 450 pages long!

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished The Devouring Grey on Monday evening which I liked. I didn’t love it but I did enjoy reading this little paranormal book. I am hovering between 3.5 and 4 stars because I did find it slow to start with but the last 110 pages did pick up!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I think I’ll be reading Viper next as that is released on the 18th April so I would like to get to that before it comes out. After that, I’ll be going for either Romanov or A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder but I’ll see what type of mood I am in!
